Phipps has operated the UK office for Wines from Rioja since 2007, developing and implementing integrated marketing campaigns on behalf of the Consejo Regulador DOCa Rioja. We are responsible for all elements of consumer and trade marketing, and have contributed to seven years of continued growth, which have seen Rioja increase its market share by 48% (Nielsen MAT to 07.12.13).

Whether we are working with over sixty independent merchants to create the “Riojtober” month of promotions, managing a busy press office, negotiating high-profile sponsorships, bringing over 100 Rioja wineries to London for the UK’s most successful regional trade tasting, or targeting the on-trade with a tasting chosen by and for sommeliers, the Rioja campaign keeps us in daily contact with all sectors of the trade. If that wasn’t enough, we also created and continue to manage the UK’s most successful free food and drink festival – Rioja Tapas Fantasticas – which has been visited by more than 80,000 people over six years and has won numerous awards, including Generic Campaign of the Year at the International Wine Challenge, the wine world’s equivalent of the Oscars.
