Jerseylicious dinner with Jimmy Doherty

Last week, farmer and TV presenter Jimmy Doherty joined our mission to get the nation celebrating that little Champagne of the potato world…the Jersey Royal. Jimmy hosted an exclusive media and bloggers dinner at London cookery school Food at 52, working with chef Bridget Colvin to serve up some of his favourite Jersey Royal dishes.
Food at 52 offered a welcoming yet chic backdrop for the evening, with a farmhouse-style open kitchen and dining area – ideal for a home-cooked meal with one of Britain’s much loved farmers.
Jersey gin and tonics flowed alongside some of the quaintest canapés – a dipping platter comprised of the tiniest Jersey Royals, also known as chats, and a selection of dips. Jimmy shared some memories from his trip to Jersey before dinner began, whereby each of the four courses were centred around Jersey Royals and other various Jersey produce, including Jersey cheese, Jersey black butter and Sue’s famous fudge.
