Six years ago Phipps was given the challenge to create a trend for Cognac in the UK, moving it away from the ‘after-dinner digestif and cigar’ image to be seen as a versatile, global and diverse spirit that is high-end yet attainable.
Phipps targeted a select group of young mixologists and sommeliers by curating a one day immersive Cognac experience complete with cocktail making and food matching masterclasses. From VS cognac designed specifically for mixology to rare vintage cognacs, over 70 different products were on show for guests to explore, taste and compare. Special sessions were held for mixologists (by Joe Hall, Satan’s Whiskers) and sommeliers (by Experience sur Mesure, a renowned chef/sommelier team from Cognac).
