With over 7 years’ experience in the wine trade, Rhian has worked with some of the finest wines in the world, from super Tuscans such as Sassicaia to big Burgundian legends like Domaine Leflaive. Rhian is now very excited be working with her favourite grape variety; Riesling. Her love of food and (mainly) wine grew from her time living in Italy’s foodie capital Bologna and Lyon, culinary Mecca of France. Rhian is in her element organising events and hosting parties. On a Friday night you will most likely find Rhian serving aperitivo with aperol spritz in her East End retreat, where most of the furniture would look at home on the set of Mad Men. Lowri has always had an eye for the finer things in life so following a language degree and a stint as a TV researcher, she made a beeline for the wine trade. She has worked across the industry moving from retail to the buying team of a leading wholesaler, picking up the WSET Diploma and enjoying some spectacular wines along the way. She’s settled in well to the PR world which satisfies her need to communicate and her love of social occasions. Marinel has been working in drinks marketing and communications for the best part of 10 years. Until recently she lived in Hong Kong heading up the marketing department of a leading wine distributor. She graduated from Oxford with a degree in French and Linguistics, and also speaks B2 Spanish, and beginner Mandarin. Marinel is a holder of the WSET Level 3 Award and is a judge for the Good Taste Awards. When she is not trying to learn an obscure language, she can be found doing laps of Richmond park on her bike or climbing the nearest large hill.

Sula is drinks industry through and through. She started her career in wine retail working for some big-name high street retailers but briefly left wine to pursue advertising and sponsorship roles in creative industries. She re-joined the drinks industry to combine her skills and produce inspiring content and engaging events across the globe for the leading wine and sprits education provider before joining Phipps. As co-founder of a successful London-based professional networking group for women working in wine, she has great industry contacts and actively champions women in the industry. Sula holds the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines and Spirits, WSET Level 1 Award in Sake and wrote her a master’s degree thesis on the business history of the Fine Wine market and investments.

Working and travelling around New Zealand and Australia kick-started Beth’s love of all things food and drink. Instead of a map, wineries and craft breweries were used to navigate both countries. Back in the UK, a stint at the drinks business gave her a great grounding in the industry. Coupled with her English Literature degree, a career in food and drink PR was inevitable. A keen home cook, you’ll find Beth honing recipes discovered on her travels, and hosting dinner parties in her flat. Recently graduated with a degree in French and Spanish from Cambridge, Ellen’s love of food and drink developed after multiple stints living in France. George is also a foodie and his favourite part of his Psychology degree was the module that explored human eating behaviour, why we eat, what we eat, and how much we eat. You’ll probably bump into George in an eccentric East London bar, boulevardier in one hand, and a vinyl record in the other.

Helen’s love of food and wine was fully realised when she was studying Classics at university, for which she blames the influence of the Romans. Whilst living in New Orleans for a year, she fully embraced the Cajun motto of “Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler” (Let The Good Times Roll) which led Helen to discover her love of Cajun cooking and French baking; so if you ever come round to her house expect a traditional jambalaya and beignets for dessert! On returning from her travels, she knew her future was in the wine trade and after stints at Laithwaite’s, Berry Brothers & Rudd and as a sommelier, she joined Phipps.
